About this place

Meineke is the Schaumburg Park District's workhorse indoor facility, and it is the answer to a lot of local questions: where do the kids' programs run, where is there a gym that is not a chain, where can we go when it has been raining for three days. It carries gymnasium space, fitness areas and a rotating program calendar that covers everything from toddler classes to adult leagues.

The outdoor aquatic side is seasonal and closes once summer ends, so if swimming is the reason you are going, check the season first - it is the single most common reason people show up to a closed gate.

This is a residents-first facility rather than a visitor attraction, and it is priced and programmed accordingly. If you have just moved to Schaumburg, it is one of the first places worth walking into: the program guide is where a surprising amount of local family life is organized, and registration for the popular sessions fills quickly.
