Bison's Bluff is a deliberate argument against plastic play equipment. Set inside Spring Valley, it is a nature playground: logs to balance on, boulders to scramble over, sand to dig, a water feature to redirect, and a treehouse-style structure at the center of it. Children work out what to do with it on their own, which is the whole point, and they usually stay far longer than anyone plans for.

It runs on timed sessions with a capacity limit, which keeps it from turning into a crush and is the main reason it stays pleasant on a warm Saturday. Sessions are seasonal and the hours shift through the year, so this is one to check before driving over.

Bring a change of clothes. The water feature is not optional as far as most four-year-olds are concerned, and the sand gets everywhere. Shade is limited in high summer, so hats and water are worth packing.

Because it sits within Spring Valley, you can pair it with a walk on the trails or a look at the heritage farm and make a genuine morning of it rather than a forty-minute stop.
