About this place

There is no gentle way to describe Medieval Times, and that is the appeal. You are seated in a color-coded section, handed a crown, given a knight to cheer for, and served a four-course meal that you eat with your hands while horses thunder past a few feet away. The show runs about two hours and combines competitive jousting, trained Andalusian horsemanship, falconry and a fair amount of theatrical villainy.

It works best with a group. Children between about five and twelve are the core audience and they tend to lose their minds in the best way, but it also holds up as an unusual birthday, a work outing, or the sort of night out visiting relatives still talk about. Vegetarian meals are available if you ask when booking.

Practicalities matter here. Shows are scheduled rather than continuous, they sell out on weekends and around school holidays, and arriving early is genuinely worth it - the pre-show areas are part of what you are paying for. The castle sits just off Roselle Road with its own large lot, so parking is one thing you do not have to think about.

Allow three hours door to door.
