Things to Do in Schaumburg

Parks & Outdoors
in Schaumburg

Prairie, marsh and lake trails, ten minutes from Woodfield.

The thing visitors get most wrong about Schaumburg is assuming it is all retail. Spring Valley alone is a large stretch of restored prairie, wetland and oak woodland with free trails through it, and Volkening Lake gives you a flat loop that fits inside a lunch hour. None of it costs anything. Most of it is flat enough for a stroller, and the birdlife in spring and fall is genuinely worth showing up for.
