Where to Eat in Schaumburg, IL

About this place

Wildberry does one service and does it hard. The kitchen opens early and closes in the early afternoon, so this is a breakfast and lunch proposition only - turning up at six for dinner is a classic newcomer mistake.

The menu is long to the point of comedy: pancakes and crepes in a dozen directions, skillets, omelettes, benedicts and a lunch side that holds its own. Portions are generous enough that sharing a sweet plate across the table is the move most regulars make rather than committing to one each.

Weekend mornings bring a wait, and there is no clever way around it - either go early, go on a weekday, or accept twenty minutes and use them to read the menu properly. Midweek it is calm and one of the better places in Schaumburg to have a quiet working breakfast.

It suits families, it suits a catch-up with a friend, and it is the right answer when someone visiting asks what there is to do before noon.
