About this place

Pilot Pete's is a family restaurant in the terminal building at Schaumburg Regional Airport, with model planes hanging from the ceiling. The big draw is the view: the windows look out over the airfield, so lunch or dinner comes with small planes taxiing, taking off and landing.

The menu is American comfort food: burgers, the house chicken fingers, pizza, pasta, steaks and seafood, with a kids' menu and daily specials. There is online ordering for carryout, gift cards, and a loyalty program for regulars called Frequent Flyers.

Good to know: the kitchen is open daily from 11 a.m., until 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. It is an easy add-on to a discovery flight or helicopter ride at the same airport, and a favorite with kids who like airplanes.
