About this place
Smyth is the only restaurant in Chicago with three Michelin stars. John Shields and Karen Urie Shields run a long, seasonal tasting menu in a relaxed West Loop room, built on what Midwest farms and foragers bring in that week. Their bar, The Loyalist, is on the garden level below.
Good to know: tasting menu only, from about $420 a person. Open Tuesday to Saturday. Book through Tock, usually weeks ahead. From Schaumburg it is about 28 miles, or 43 minutes by car with light traffic via I-90.
