About this place

Blissful Bay is a working massage studio rather than a destination spa, and for a lot of people that is exactly the right thing. You are not paying for a robe, a relaxation lounge and a cucumber water station; you are paying for an hour of proper bodywork at a price that makes it a monthly habit rather than an annual treat.

The menu covers the usual ground - deep tissue, Swedish, targeted work on backs and shoulders that have spent too long at a desk. Be specific when you book and specific again on the table; small independent studios like this one are generally far better at working to a brief than a large chain is.

It is on West Schaumburg Road, easy to reach from most of the village, with parking directly outside. Appointments are the norm; call rather than assuming a walk-in slot, particularly at the end of the week.

Good for: a recurring hour that genuinely helps, couples' bookings, and anyone who has decided the shoulder thing is not going to fix itself.
